PUT YOUR CHILDREN ON THE RIGHT TRACK TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE Youth Fitness Program The goal, and vision of THE GYM’s Youth Fitness Program, is to get children engaged in fitness: a lifetime of movement while introducing them to a health club environment. All classes are fun so every child can learn to enjoy sports! Positive experiences with physical activity at a young age can help every child reach a goal of regular physical activity throughout their lives. Our Mission at all our locations is to create a fair, organized and educational environment for children from elementary school age through the age of 14 so that they can learn an appreciation for health and fitness that will continue into adulthood. Research shows that regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence helps build stronger bones and muscles, control weight, reduce anxiety and stress, increase self esteem and reduce the risk of premature diseases. Positive experiences with physical activity at a young age can help your child start a lifetime of beneficial physical activity. Our programs are designed to help make a positive change. Why not give your child, and their friends, the gift of activity that can last the rest of their lives? At THE GYM, we have two different and distinct programs, as follows:
Youth Fitness Program: MONTVALE and ENGLEWOOD THE GYM’s Youth Fitness Program is a complete 12 week exercise program for all boys and girls from elementary school to the age of 14 where we focus on progression of exercise for building a solid fundamental base. Our program incorporates various exercise techniques and activities. Depending on the child’s age group, we utilize equipment such as: medicine balls, free weights, jump ropes, agility equipment, etc. Participants work in pairs, small groups, and teams that will assist in the development of their self confidence and social skills. Our highly educated, well-trained staff will encourage your children to express themselves through training with exercises such as core, balance, strength, endurance, stability, plyometrics and agility. They will also learn good sportsmanship through teamwork, following “rules of sportsmanship”, and proper “winning/losing” skills. Youth Fitness Program: Armonk, NY THE GYM’s Youth Fitness Program at Armonk is a comprehensive after-school program for all boys and girls from elementary school to the age of 14, which is the same as above. However, thanks to Bobby Barad, Esq., an Armonk resident specializing in the sports industry, he brings a wonderful dimension to the training environment: His experience and association with experts in the fields of nutrition and fitness have enabled him to put together a qualified staff to get children involved in sports-specific training. This includes baseball, basketball, and sports-skill training in actual and sports-gymnasium settings.
