The Youth Program
All of the classes in The Youth Fitness Program at THE GYM are designed to help kids understand the importance of having a lifestyle that involves sports and exercise. The programs provide young athletes with fun ways to keep moving while the instructors teach the most efficient way to accomplish that. Each program focuses on different, enjoyable ways to stay active so that children can incorporate health and exercise into their daily lives at a young age.

 

Basketball at THE GYM
In association with Fundamental Sports Academy, THE GYM’s Youth Basketball Program is designed to develop playing skills, sportsmanship and teach boys and girls about the sport of basketball. Directed by Brad Ceisler, the former NBA coach has worked with the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and San Antonio Spurs, mentoring some of America’s greatest players including Shaquille O'Neal and Ben Gordon. In our hour-long training classes, Coach Ceisler and his staff teach young athletes the fundamentals through proper warm-up routines, skill development drills and by teaching the correct techniques to help them achieve success on the basketball court.

 

 

Jodi's Gym
Jodi’s Gym has been providing the highest level of fun and fitness to kids for 28 years. You won’t find a more attentive, caring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff anywhere. Each one of our staff is USA Gymnastics safety certified and goes through an extensive training program.  Jodi’s Gym at THE GYM is a great way for your child to enjoy some fun and exercise, whether they are 18 months or 5 years old there are plenty of challenging gymnastic techniques for your child to learn. Jodi’s Gym has supplied brand new gymnastic equipment for the kids to play and learn the basics of gymnastics on.  These classes are also a great way for kids to improve balance, learn exercises and build self confidence.

Pre-k Classes
At THE GYM, we understand the importance of integrating fitness into children’s daily lives at a young age. Our Pre-Kindergarten classes are designed to introduce sports and exercise through enjoyable, effective games, enabling youngsters to have fun while they work out. This program teaches 3-5 year olds how to warm up, stretch, and complete simple exercises properly before engaging in fun and fast-paced sports and games. The hour long classes are jam-packed with tons of activities that will get your little one’s heart pumping and provide them with the perfect amount of
exercise for the day.

 

Sport Specific Classes and Lessons
The Youth Program at THE GYM offers sport specific classes and lessons to kids of all ages. Qualified instructors use specific training techniques to improve our young athlete’s skill level, while honing in on important mechanics which make a strong and successful athlete.

 

Super Soccer Stars
THE GYM’s Super Soccer Stars classes are based on age-specific curricula created by early childhood behavioral specialists and soccer experts. The soccer program is developed to give budding soccer stars the proper framework, enabling them to excel as they advance from class to class. Each session begins with a welcome activity, incorporating song and cheers, then transitioning to warm-up games followed by a muscle warming stretch. Our soccer stars will participate in individual, partner, and group activities in a non-competitive environment. The session concludes with a scrimmage game, adapted for the proper age group, to familiarize budding athletes with the structure of a game setting, while reassuring our young kickers with positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Our Goal & Vision
 
The goal and vision of THE GYM’s Youth Fitness Program is to get children engaged in fitness, a lifetime of movement, while introducing them to a health club environment.   All classes are fun so every child can learn to enjoy sports.   Positive experiences with physical activity at a young age can help every child reach a goal of regular physical activity throughout their lives.

Our Mission at all our locations is to create a fair, organized and educational environment for children from elementary school age through the age of 14 so they can learn an appreciation for health and fitness that will continue into adulthood.

Research shows that regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence helps build stronger bones and muscles, control weight, reduce anxiety and stress, increase self-esteem and reduce the risk of premature diseases. Positive experiences with physical activity at a young age can help your child start a lifetime of beneficial physical activity.

At THE GYM, we have two different and distinct programs:

Youth Fitness Program
THE GYM’s signature Youth Fitness Program at Armonk is a comprehensive after-school program for all boys and girls from elementary school to the age of 14. 

Bobby Barad, an Armonk resident specializing in the sports industry, brings a wonderful dimension to our training environment:  His experience and association with experts in the fields of nutrition and fitness have enabled him to put together a qualified staff to get children involved in sports-specific training.   It includes baseball, basketball and sports-skill training in actual and sports-gymnasium settings.
