Since opening THE GYM’s first location in Montvale, NJ in 2002, Robert Lazarowitz has served as General Partner.

Mr. Lazarowitz, however, hasn’t always been in the fitness world.  In fact, prior to opening THE GYM, Rob worked on Wall Street where he started his own firm and turned it into a billion dollar company.  At that time, he began working with a personal trainer and was astounded at how it changed his life.  In 2000, after deciding that life on Wall Street was no longer for him, Rob partnered up with his personal trainer and opened THE GYM in Montvale, NJ.  Four years later, Rob is the owner of two other gyms in addition to the Montvale location:  Englewood, NJ (2006) and Armonk, NY (2007).  No doubt, his well-honed business management skills helped to create this large success in the fitness industry.

As general partner, Rob delegates a lot of responsibilities to the members of his team, oversees facility management, and makes all of the company’s financial decisions. With the company’s rapid growth, Rob works to ensure that his dedicated staff is open and able to facilitate positive changes in all three facilities.  

Although THE GYM has been a great success, Rob is not ready to just sit back and relax.  He understands that customer satisfaction is of primary importance, and he goes out of his way to ensure that he, his management team, and his staff are always there for their members.   In addition, he is continuously educating himself in order to stay ahead of the healthy trends in the fitness industry.  As a result Rob, together with his team, is able to differentiate between long-lasting trends and passing fads and is thus able to constantly meet his members’ needs and expectations.
